FAQs

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a mind-body exercise named after German physical trainer Joseph Pilates in the early twentieth century. Its roots and influences can be found in yoga, dance, gymnastics, martial arts, and weight training.

Pilates called his method "Contrology.” It is an innovative and safe method of mind-body exercise that uses a floor mat or a variety of equipment. Pilates develops strength without excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen. It teaches body awareness, proper posture, and balanced, mindful movement. Pilates also improves flexibility and agility and can even help with back pain.

It will work for you regardless of your age or condition.
